Today I underwent absolutely the second worst experience of my entire life! It was called an esophageal manometry– and I say second worst because my two gastroscopies (with no anesthesia or sedatives) in 1998 were the worst thing I’ve ever undergone- bar none!
Currently I have a thin tube attached to a machine and it goes in my nose that goes down into my stomach. The pipe is taped to my cheek, goes over my ear and is then taped to my neck. It’s a 24 hour PH test and I have to note the times I start and finish eating, the times that I start and finish lying down, and the times I get heartburn or chest pains. The shitty thing is this little pipe will only come out tomorrow morning when I’m admitted and I can feel it in the back of my throat every time I swallow!
There Is Never An Excuse
One in three is not a statistic - one in three is a crying shame.
