It’s something like a game show that happens a couple of times a year called Test The Nation. It’s a series of multiple choice questions based around a specific theme. I haven’t taken part in any of them before, but tonight’s one intrigued me. Tonight’s quiz was parenting, with Teens VS Moms VS Dads VS Grandparents in the studio, and the provinces against each other via text message entries. Each answer is pretty much correct (there are three answers for each of the 36 questions), but they were weighted with a score of between 1 and 3 points. The first category was four questions worth only one point each; the other four categories had eight questions each with a score of between one and three points per question. Apart from the fact that there was a car on the line for the highest scoring “home” player, I was curious as to how I would score overall- your score was sent to you via text message at the end of the show.
The winning celebrity was DJ Fresh, males and females scored equally with 81%, the winning team in the studio was the Teens (huh!?!), the winning age group nationally was mine (32 to 50) and the winning province was the Northern Cape!
Out of a total possible score of 100 points I scored a total of 87!
Not bad, but I thought I’d do better… and I didn’t win the car either…
There Is Never An Excuse
One in three is not a statistic - one in three is a crying shame.
