I Caved Bunnies…

Yup… I gave in.

I followed the crowd.

I went with the flow.

I became sheep-like.

I re-registered on Facebook (quickly ducks insults and shouts of “I-told-you-so”).

But I did it with a twist- think mojito or Sparletta!

You all know what a total link slut I am- and how I love gadgets and web toys- and I couldn’t bear there to be a toy on the interweb that I wasn’t also playing with, but because of what bugged me in the first place I went and checked out their privacy settings. I discovered I can open myself a profile but it will only be visible to people I say can see it, and I can block other users from viewing my profile. So I did both. I limited access to my profile to everyone and I blocked a few people entirely.
I’m not there all the time and I don’t add all the goodies people send me (thank you by the way- you’re so sweet). The reason being, when you add an application to your page there’s this “a third party will share your details” screen that makes me nervous, but its fun so far.

You do know I can hear you laughing…

  1. terri: its very quickly boring and it is waaaaay too much work- i ignore most of the app invites sent my way…

blue momma: howdy! i love new visitors- welcome- i’ll be right over!

phats: mwaaaaaahahahahahaaaaa… sharing intimate details with your students may well get you into trouble… or them!

  2. Have fun with that haha. too many of my own students are on facebook so I will pass.

Let Damien know the fight song is back on the blog, or at least it should be.

  3. Just signed up on Facebook myself. Just what I needed – another online addiction!

Guess where I found your blog? Yeah, Facebook.

I read so many US or Canadian based blogs, I just thought I’d expand my horizons a little.

So I’ll be checking out your rollercoaster…

  4. AARGH! Blogger just ate my last comment and I HATE repeating myself!
In short: Facebook is too much like hard work so I’m happier blogging.
Yeah, I know, hard to tell from this comment LOL!

  5. h.e.: teehee… i can imagine i would feel the same if damien was online at all!

katy katy katy: i reckon its real easy to get bored with it…

peong: i never got onto myspace at all… but the funny thing is, my facebook friends are the same as my regular email slash blog friends!

  6. I just signed up for it last week, about 5 days after creating a myspace page. There was a lot of copying and pasting. I set them up so I could chat with people easier, and to catch up with folks i hadn’t seen in years which has so far been successful. I’m also terrible at updating my address book so just clicking on friends and being able to send a message works for me.

  7. My facebook lasted two days because it felt like I was checking up n my kids. My goodladywife is hooked.

I liked it but I judt don’t have time to do both.

  8. mel: i am a wuss, but i think its a fad…

sweetass rsa: i am impressed- and that was why i put it off…

jenty: i don’t spend a lot of time there either… i have other online toys i prefer!

    whatalotoffun: luvverly!

mike: woohoo! yet another opportunity to talk about myself!!!

  9. hi just to let you know I have uploaded some photos so go and have a look if you want to

  10. I’m on facebook too and love it 🙂 My profile is also restricted only to friends.
I don’t spend a lot of time there anymore though, just mostly in the evenings to play scrabble with friends.

  11. i refuse to do the facebook thing, i read so many blogs that if i do facebook 2 i will never have time to work!!! i am very proud of myself, i haven’t even gone to check facebook out, which, believe me is quite a miracle. remember this excuse: the devil made me do it. it’s quite handy in various situations haha!

  12. Wuss! I just took myself off, yay!
Well done on your hangover the other day! Impressive you can still party hard enough to puke.
