Fresh Ink!!!

Thats right bunnies!!!
What you’ve all been waiting for!
So how do you torture a tattoo artist? Give them a design like mine to trace and prepare for transfer!!! Poor Faith… almost an hour just to trace the drawing!
Almost three hours and some VERY stiff shoulders later I am ecstatic with the result!!!
Anyone who’s ever been inked will tell you the lines are the absolute worst- and my design had a LOT of lines!!! I didn’t scream or cry- but I did do a LOT of deep breathing and groaning- especially the parts over my shoulder blades… And now it feels like REALLY bad sunburn…
We were supposed to start at 4:30pm… but poor Faith got stuck in traffic and as a result we started just after 7pm, once the tracing was done…
And of course- in these photos is as good as its going to look for the next few weeks, it’ll start scabbing over and itching REAL soon so I had to get pictures while it was new and gorgeous!
Preparing the design…

Another artist at work on someone else…
Transferred and ready to start…
First wing almost done…
The finished work! Don’t you just LOVE this!!!

And possibly THE most risque picture I have or will ever post of myself on my blog- this was Damien’s idea so you can see all my ink in one picture!!!

That is astounding! Truly beautiful. And I’m desperatly jealous. πŸ™

And I sympathise, lines aren’t the nicest thing to have done! Well done for being able to get it all done in one sitting, as I’m sure it must have been just a teeny bit painful, lol.

I love em! All of em!! There was a book, I think it was by John Irving about a woman who was a tattoo artist and she used to do one hell of a Rose of Jericho. It was a good book, the name has escaped me totally, but I’ll find it and I think you ought to read it. Err, the book was about tatoos alone though, they were just extensively explored. She was a single mother. (gosh sometimes I can be totally inarticulate, anyway I’m sure you’ll figure this out.)
    The Damien tattoo is awesome.
