Well… It WAS Going To Be A Quiet Weekend…

gotta love Glugster’s phone camera!!!

Friday night Damien had a date with Flower. I dropped him off at her house just before 5pm and he had rented a couple of DVD movies to watch with her, and he said he would be given supper too. We got a little lost in her suburb because I couldn’t find her street in my map book index, and when I found her suburb instead, I didn’t turn the page- where I would have found he street and a much easier route! Anyhoodle, Damien was clean and bathed with nice clean clothes on and was dropped off with a reminder to stick to the rules at all times. These are our own rules and they apply at home too. He’s not allowed in a girl’s bedroom (or a girl allowed in his); he’s not allowed to “disappear” with her at any time and he has to remember his manners at all times, with her and with her family.

I then went home to titivate and pack and wait for the Glugster. When he called and said he was on his way I carted all mine and Damien’s bags (which includes my handbag and my notebook- each weighing in at around 3kg- which is close to 7lb). From there we went to a new local mall that neither of us have been to before- and were VERY impressed by the look and the layout of the place. It really is beautiful and there’s lots to see.

In case you’re wondering how I can say a mall is beautiful… I’m a complete mall rat and I love shopping and window shopping and strolling around a shopping centre.

While we were there Glugs bought me a simply GAWJISS ring, and we had supper at Karoo. Glugs seems to have a knack with picking restaurants bunnies- the service and food was outstanding! Sadly (for me) I didn’t have my camera- so you will not be seeing any pictures of that particular evening. I ate EXACTLY what I was in the mood for in a divine smoked salmon and caper starter and then I had jelly and custard for dessert! Glugs had a fillet steak with pap and sheba with cheesecake for dessert, and for our “salad” side dish we had a mixture of melon pieces, cherry tomatoes, cucumber slices and noodle salad from the (bottomless AND free) salad bar. Their menu is here if you’d like to see it. And once again when Glugs placed our drinks order- always ordering for me first- the waitron thought the Black Label was for him. This happens time and time again… Ladies can- and do- drink Black Label you know!

We picked up the knucklehead right on time… and neither of them looked abashed or dishevelled when they came to the gate so I think I’m safe still. Damien having a girlfriend means I have palpitations. I made my mom a Grandmother at 37 years old and I am working as hard as I can to make sure Damien doesn’t do the same to me. ADHDers are notoriously quick to act and NEVER consider the consequences…

Right. Lets not dwell on that.

Today- Saturday- was supposed to be quiet… we slept till 10am, and then went to drop off the evil puppies at their mother’s house after they’d had their annual shots. From there we stopped to pick up mine and Damien’s meds and then went to fetch my express card from Vodacom. That done we realised we were rather hungry and went to O’Galito for lunch. When Glugs saw they had a sushi menu he asked if I’d like to try some. I’ve been dying to try sushi so he ordered us the crab and prawn california rolls as he said those were usually safe for someone to use as an introduction to sushi. Wow bunnies. Glugs was genuinely impressed with the quality of their food, and I am now totally hooked on sushi! I loved it, and its so filling!

When we got back- after I fetched my car- Glugs set about fixing his bed. The broken bed has been standing up on its side since I posted those pictures of it- and Glugs was getting annoyed with it getting in the way and with having to sleep on the floor! So not only is my sweetheart sexy and smart and funny… he’s quite the handy-man too! Not only has he fixed it he’s reinforced it too!!

I’ll let you all know if his work holds out against our… um… workouts.

LOL

My bestest best friend comes to visit tomorrow- with hubby and kidlets in tow. She’ll be meeting my Glugs for the first time, though she’s heard a lot about him already. And he’s already scored brownie points ‘coz he supports the same rubgy team she does, snigger… and its not the same team as the team I support!

Nice to know that Glugster and that nachos are in South Africa (via Karoo). I still haven’t been able to discern just what “with pap and sheba” are.
