Meme Time

This here blog space has been way too quiet of late… so when the opportunity presented itself I grabbed it with both hands. This meme was stolen from BecauseIcan, who stole it from Harassed Mom… I dunno where she got it from, but it’s a nice little filler for me!

How long have you been blogging? In May 2010 my blog was 5 years old!

Why did you start blogging? For as long as I can remember, I wanted a space on the internet where I could talk about myself and my son. I wish I’d known about blogging YEARS ago!

What have you found to be the benefits of blogging? Cheese and rice bunnies… where do I start! Cheap therapy! Support through hardship. Advice in a pinch. Getting to know people who challenge you intellectually. Making friends. Accidentally falling in love… 😀

How many times a week do you post an entry? When I started it was daily, and I managed to keep that up for years… now, with planning my wedding, getting a cupcake business off the ground, working full day, supporting parents of children with ADHD and keeping my relationship with my fiancé and my son good, I barely post weekly! But that will change when I stop working full time!

How many different blogs do you read on a regular basis? There are 50 SA bloggers that I read as often as I can, and these are people I have gotten to know in real life too. Then there are another 50 bloggers I try to keep up with- most of whom are bloggers I’ve been reading since I started blogging!

Do you comment on other people’s blogs? Oh yes! I am a serial commenter and I comment on everything I read! Lurking never even occurred to me! if you leave me a space to leave my 2c, you’re going to hear it.

Do you keep track of how many visitors you’ve had? I have hit counters, and I keep an eye on my stats and keywords, especially for the ADHD related posts.

Do you ever regret a post that you wrote? Only once did I delete a post, but I wrote it in anger and I was sorry I posted it. There are others that I have password protected because sometimes I need to throw my toys out the cot, and that’s hard when all your friends and family read your blog.

Do you think your audience has a true sense of who you are based on your blog? I believe so. I am the same on and off my blog…

Do you blog under your real name? To a degree :p

Are there topics you would never blog about? Many! My love and sex life are topics I do not discuss, apart from coyly alluding to how fabulous they are and how spoilt and loved I am.

What is the theme/topic of your blog? I think it’s what’s become known as a “life blog”. It may have been more of a mommy blog had I started when Damien was a baby, but I blog about everything and anything that strikes me as post-worthy… and in any blogger’s life that’s EVERYTHING!

Do you have more than one blog? If so, why? I do indeed!! I have 5 of my own, and I look after one for someone else, though that one is much harder to keep up to date than it used to be. I actually had 7, but 2 have become websites in their own right- Angel’s Weddings and The Cupcake Lady.

My cats have their own blog because I figured people could go there and read about them if they so wanted, rather than fill up my personal blog with cat pictures ;).

I have a photo blog, which I haven’t updated in ages- because posting the photos I took on my personal blog was slowing down its loading too much at one point.

I have one that is completely personal and private and open to no-one but me.

And I have an invitation only one that I shared with a friend, where we experimented with some erotic fiction writing 🙂

Have you ever deleted a comment from your blog? Spam only. I’ve hardly ever had any really “mean” comments, and even when I want opinions and think I may have thrown a cat among the pigeons- like my ADHD posts- I don’t get any meanies.
