Blogging My Blog, Sally-Jane Asked…

I wrote you a whole long question last week and then my silly computer froze. It was along the lines of weddings, if there were things that you would have done differently and how the wedding planning business was going?

So shall I just give you some answers along those lines then? 🙂 Well Pink Hair Girl, or should I say Pink-and-purple Hair Girl :P, there are a few things I would like to have done differently, and I’m actually working on a post about it for my wedding site. The things I wish I had done differently are almost all related to time and timing. I was so determined to keep to my schedule and not be a typically late bride, that I rushed through a lot of things I didn’t need to.

I wish I had spent more time greeting my guests after they had showered us with rose petals rather than rushing off to do the cake thing. I wish I had danced with my Glugster more. I wish we had spent more time together rather than mingling with our guests seperately. I wish I had spent more time in the photo booth with my husband and with my guests and with Damien. I wish I had kept my prepared speech with me rather than deciding to wing it on the night.

Don’t get me wrong, I had a wonderful day, and I am insanely happy now, but I think “if only” thoughts are normal for a big occasion.

The business side of my love of weddings has taken a wee it of a backseat because I am so insanely busy being The Cupcake Lady! I am organising a photography workshop right now, and there are one or two things in the pipeline that are wedding related but no wedding planning as such!

Does that answer your question?

  1. I love that you did the photos first and the guests did not have to stand around and wait bored while you had photos. I remember waiting 2 hours at one wedding while they went to the beach and forest and and and.

  2. I hear you – I loved, loved, LOVED my wedding, but of course there are a few things I would have changed if I had the chance (for instance, my biggest bugbear was that we had canapes on the lawn and no-one told the guests where they could pick up a plate and a glass because my MC was late and didn’t get time to chat to the caterers about these things).
