Gag Alert…

This morning, after I delivered an order of cupcakes for The Cupcake Lady and popped in for a quick cup of coffee at ExMi’s (which was so cool, its been too long), I headed for the post office and Pick n Pay.

Chores finished and mailbox emptied, I made my way back to my car.

On the way, I passed an elderly couple unpacking their groceries into their car boot. They were chatting amiably about what to have for supper and in that split second of conversation I got the impression that they are happy together and enjoy each other’s company.

Perhaps I have the wrong impression, but it made me smile, and I smiled all the way home thinking about how I am going to be able to do that with my Glugster and I actually looked forward to us both retiring and getting old together. And when he came home from work I gave him an extra kiss and a cuddle and told him what had happened.

Everyone who isn’t gagging, say “Aaaaawwwww…”

  1. You know what? I also want this for me and my hubby – to grow old together, to be like the couple you have describe in the post. And I have told hubby that I want this for us. I do pray that God will bless us with that and do believe that one day we will be able to have that.

  2. my Dad always used to say the reason he still held my Mom’s hand after 40 years was so that she could not hit him when he annoyed her πŸ˜‰

  3. Thats so sweet πŸ™‚ I often have an “awww” moment when I see elderly couples still holding hands or kissing each other hello/goodbye!
