Not seeing my son on his birthday! 🙁
Today my gorgeous son turns 26.
At 2:43 this morning his 26th year on this earth ended.
And this year is the first year I won’t see him on his birthday!
I couldn’t wake him up with coffee and presents.
I haven’t baked him a birthday cake.
I miss him SO much!
And I am SO proud of him!
He works too far away for us or for him to pop in for cake and tea. I would have loved to surprise him!
Today, my baby boy celebrates his twenty fifth birthday.
When I realised just how grown up you are, I literally stopped dead in my tracks. Its actually had me tearing up thinking about it! How silly is that! 😀
You changed the world as soon as you entered in, and you made sure to keep changing it. Time flies so fast, and you have grown up to be an amazing young man, but you will always be my baby.
I wish I was more eloquent a writer, so I could do a blog post here that does you justice, so I could share with people just how hard you’ve worked and how you are well set on a fantastic career in something you are passionate about. How wonderful you are with your cousins – all younger than you. How you love spending time with your family.
We are so very proud of you. Enjoy your day, my knucklehead. Stay as sweet as you are!
My birthday is a week away, so juuust in case anyone is interested – I do have a wishlist…
And since I’m turning 40 *snigger* it is a special occasion! 😛
I have a few long-ass wishlists on Craftsy, Yuppiechef, and Exclus1ve Books, for courses, baking equipment, and books, so vouchers are always a winner!
Especially this one!
Grown-up coloring books and snazzy crayons or fine liners will score you MAJOR brownie points, as will a bottle or six of dry bubbly, although that goes without saying…
I’m learning to be a hooker too, so wool and crochet hooks would be grand!
AND I have FINALLY started collecting the Schleich horses (I already have the Appaloosa foal)! The detail is incredible, each one is hand painted so no two are exactly alike! Click through and see!
HAPPY ALMOST-BIRTHDAY TO ME!
And today its her birthday.
As my folks are moving house soon my mommy darling gave me a box full of letters and cards that I have given them over the years and it was so much fun going through them. What follows is a collection of the verses and wishes from some of the cards I have given my mom over the years for Mothers Day and birthdays, ‘coz they’re still appropriate.
You’ve shown what love is all about–
through special ways you’ve shared,
with wise advice you’ve offered,
and in tender ways you’ve cared…
You’re always there when needed,
always willing to help out.
It means so much having a wonderful mom…
a mom I can trust and confide in.
A mom I can count on and feel very close to,
as well as respect and take pride in…
The special example you’ve set through the years
inspires me in all that I do.
It means so much having a wonderful mom…
And I’m hoping I take after you.
Happy birthday to a great mom
who patiently guided me from childhood,
Sometimes all in the same day!
Mommy darling, I am truly blessed to have you in my life.
No matter how much you have on your plate you always have time for me. How do I put into words what you mean to me…
I’ve put you through more, and asked you for more than most moms should have to deal with in a lifetime and you never let me down.
My life is full of happy memories and I wouldn’t have that without you.
Happy birthday mommy darling.
I love you more every day.
Our family welcomed a new member last week!
My brother’s new baby, E, was born on January 10th 2013. He weighed 2.86kg and he is just so beautiful and so perfect. We went to meet him the day after he was born and we were all quite smitten.
its a dreadful picture because I forgot to check my settings before attempting a photo in the dark ward
It was a bit of an up and down day though… We were so happy and excited to be able to welcome baby E into our lives and our hearts, but we still hurt so much from the loss of E’s big brother, Nathan. And it is so heart sore that E will never know him.
Baby E does have a really sweet big brother who is very proud of his new title! Almost 6 year old J is so cute and so smart, and my Glugster and I are his godparents!
He visited us this weekend past without his mommy for the first time and we had so much fun! We baked cupcakes, the boys swam, he played with the puppy, he played PS2 with his cousin the knucklehead, and he got to know the knucklehead’s beardie, Spike.
He loved the baking part- cracking eggs like a pro- but the decorating isn’t the best part for him. He’s a right little fish too- he’ll swim all day if you let him! And he thinks his big cousin D is just awesome!
We’re really glad he’s happy to spend time with us without his mommy because we love having him around, and there’s a lot we want to do like take him to Sci-Bono (at the end of the month) and the zoo! And of course spending time with him gives his mommy a break and focuses some attention on him which is important when there’s a new baby competing for the spotlight and mommy’s time at home.
